Just added to our for sale page today is this vintage 1972 Airstream.
This Airstream is a gutted shell, the chassis has been repaired and a new floor has been laid so it is now ready for a refit.

Just like our Lava Lamp Airstream that was recently Featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces on Channel 4. An Airstream like this in your garden needs no planning permission and is perfect for outdoor entertaining, as an office or guest accommodation. Just £12,500 with no VAT to pay.
Regular visitors to this blog will be hard-pressed to forget the fabulous Lava Lamp Airstream that we finished earlier this year for client Bernard Fontannaz, which was craned into his back garden in Oxford. The interior design for this retro-themed Airstream was inspired by the inside of a lava lamp.
Well now you can get a proper 360 degree look around inside the Airstream and find out what Bernard gets up to in there as he is going to be featured on episode 2 of George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces on Channel 4 tomorrow night. In the series, George Clarke explores the extraordinary world of small builds, where people turn tiny spaces into the most incredible places to live, work and play. This project was certainly for playing – if you haven’t seen it before you can find out more about it in these blog posts

Last week our brilliant photographer Jeremy Phillips popped back to visit customers Bernard and Sue Fontannaz, owners of the Lava Lamp Airstream to take some pictures of it in situ at their home in Oxfordshire. This Airstream is going to be featured in a TV series on Micro Design on Channel 4.
Here’s the Lava Lamp Airstream being delivered to it’s new home in North Oxford on Monday. This Airstream is going to remain in the garden as a spare room and place to entertain guests, rather than going on tour. Unfortunately there is no access to the back garden from the road so it had to be lifted into the garden by an enormous crane. A big crowd of people turned up to watch and it was also filmed by a TV Crew for a new TV series on Micro Design which will be aired on Channel 4 in the spring! Here’s some photos of it going in:
As part of an ongoing series focused on Micro Design, the TV crew came back today to film the progress on some of our Airstream Projects.
Here’s a demonstration of the polishing process:
And in this picture our professional carpet fitters are showing the film crew how they are laying new Dalsouple flooring in this Airstream. It is a lovely soft jade colour that looks just right in a 50’s Airstream.
All smiles at the workshop last week as the film crew arrive back to record how the Airstreams projects have moved forward.
On Friday we had a visit from a TV company who are shooting a pilot episode for a TV series about Micro Design. They are interested in the application of design in small spaces – such as you might find in different types of caravan or small buildings. Kathy was interviewed talking about some of the projects in the Workshop at the moment – we will keep you posted on when the show is being aired and if it is made into a series you will be able to find out even more about how our caravans are restored.
